INTRO
2011 marked the start of our partnership with Fox Racing Shox. We have worked with Fox to create custom tuned RP23 with Kashima coat specifically catering to the adjustable leverage ratio Loki offers. Over the past year Fox engineers have come up with several prototype shocks that have been tested and beaten up by our pros. Fox used a combination of frame and compression analysis and rider feedback to find an optimal feel for the production shock. The result is a fully custom-tuned boost valve RP23 Kashima coat with three-piece sleeves, and custom XV internal valve to handle high volume pressure.
The frame can be set to three different rear travel positions that create optimal leverage ratios for specific types of riding. The inside shock position is 125mm and creates a plush initial travel with an aggressive ramping rate prior to bottoming out. This would be dialed in for the shore and big mountain style riding. The middle position is 120mm travel and provides a balance of pedal efficiency and plushness optimized for all mountain riding. The outside position is set at 116mm rear travel with a stiff initial travel dialed perfect for dirt jump and slopestyle features. You can now search further than ever for those deep woods natural stunts as several stock Loki builds weigh in at under thirty pounds. Loki sees no boundaries, so when asked to perform, Loki answers "Shore up, Shore Down, Shore Thing".
FITMENT AND SIZING
Loki's versatility overcomes the challenges presented from riders demanding different riding styles from one machine. The main objective for the frame was to pack the suspension low and tight to create ideal stand over heights and a low center of mass. Loki will come in four sizes: X-Small, Small, Medium, and Large. Custom stem lengths are available for additional accuracy and precise fitment. Optional forks from Fox and Rock Shox provide the opportunity to select a fork with correct ride height and compression. Customers can even choose specific crank arm lengths to optimize platform position and pedal efficiency.
TESTING
After two years and six evolving prototypes, Loki has finally come to life. Holding true to the original strength and weight requirements meant utilizing high end material solutions along with clever construction techniques. Every time we gave Mitch Chubey and Alejandro Ortiz a more updated prototype to ride they had specific instructions to attempt to destroy them at all costs. After relentless abuse we ask our riders for feedback and we did not produce any filter between the riders and the engineers. While Mitch tortured his protos on the North Shore, Alejo took his proto's into warp speed, even shredding DH runs at Plattekill.
After the feedback and detailed frame inspection, we at Morpheus created optimal parts and bolstered materials to handle the abuse. It took two years until the team, engineers, Mitch and Alejo approved the design. They now ride a frame right off the production line that is identical to the one available for purchase today. Our development time on this frame was extended because we wanted to leave nothing to chance and because our commitment is to offer competition ready frames to the public. Our customers can now push themselves beyond what they thought was possible because they never have to worry about the bike itself.
